TREATMENT: Citrine is the oxidation state of the iron impurities present in the quartz. When heated, the iron impurities are reduced to make amethyst’s purple color to fade and turn yellow to reddish-orange (citrine). This process depends on various factors including the percentage of the iron impurities present and the heating duration and time.

UNUSUAL PROPERTIES: Citrine is often used as a birthstone of November (along with topaz). Citrine’s colour is thought to radiate positive energy. It is known as the ‘success stone’, since it is believed to promote prosperity and abundance, especially in situations involving business.
